Gina McVey, a young radiologist at a major London hospital, attends her father, John's, birthday celebration. Among the guests are her boyfriend Stefan, her brother Daniel and his girlfriend, Kate. During dinner, while they are chatting animatedly, a large wall mirror shatters for no apparent reason, causing a tension that had not existed until that moment to erupt among the attendees. The next day, on her way home, Gina thinks she sees a woman on the street who bears a striking resemblance to her. Overwhelmed, she decides to follow her to her apartment, where, upon finding the door open, she will discover, horrified, a photograph of her father with that other woman, a perfect double of herself. From that moment on, paranoia takes over and she begins to doubt even those close to her. A modern approach to the horror genre, The Broken is an injection of pure adrenaline, a film that plays with the question that most often scares our conscious mind: What would happen if what we feared the most was ourselves? In this case, the terror has a physical identity, it comes from an unknown place, it comes directly for us and will stop at nothing.
