Martin , an electronic music composer and DJ from the Berlin alternative scene known under the pseudonym DJ Ickarus, is on tour with his manager and his girlfriend, Mathilde. They spend their nights in the clubs and prepare the imminent release of an important electronic music album. However, Mathilde endures Martin 's drug addiction increasingly worse and the DJ's admission to a psychiatric emergency room after abusing illicit substances puts the release of the album in question. While Martin meets the other patients and begins to write music, Mathilde falls back into the arms of his ex, Corinna, and the release of the album remains on hold.
