On an imaginary island lost in the Aegean Sea, in a time long before Homer, Minor, half man and half pig, orphan and mute, spends his days peacefully in the warmth of the pigsty in the company of his good friend the Pig. During an escape to a mythological forest, Minor encounters one of the most influential characters of his time, the god Pan, alias Satyrus, who initiates him in his goat-like way into the complexities of paganism.
Perched on an olive branch to spy on Clytia, the Patriarch's daughter, betrothed to the poet Karkos, Minor suffers a bad fall and is killed. As we are still at the beginning of the film and time allows, he resurrects and recovers the word.
The astonished villagers discover that not only is he not dead, but he reveals an astonishing sense of eloquence.
Following the advice of the fortune teller (Bernard Haller), Minor is consecrated king. The problems begin.
