Sharp political satire. Goose Soup is the most hilarious and craziest Marx Brothers film. Groucho is Rufus T. Firef, the hilarious dictator of the mythical Libertonia. Harpo and Chico are spies in the pay of Groucho's political enemy, the calculating Trentino (Louis Calhern). The film contains many of the most famous sequences of the Marx Brothers: the lemonade stand (a masterful crescendo of anger), the Paul Revere parody, the number We're Going to War, a magnificent caricature of the musicals of the 1930s , the hilarious mirror scene, and the final battle episode, copied by countless comedians, from Woody Allen to Mad magazine.

When professional photographer JB 'Jeff' Jeffries (James Stewart) is confined to a wheelchair after breaking his leg, he becomes obsessed with watching the personal dramas of his neighbors looking out their window into the building's large interior courtyard. When he suspects that a salesman may have murdered his annoying wife, Jeffries enlists the help of his attractive girlfriend (Grace Kelly) to investigate the more than suspicious chain of events...
