Serge, a slaughterhouse employee, has worked since he was sixteen. Now, in his sixties, his greatest desire is to retire. During a visit to sort out the administrative procedures related to his pension, he discovers that throughout his chaotic work life several of his bosses forgot, not coincidentally, to record his earnings.
