Lurgan, Northern Ireland, 1975. A low-level civil war has been brewing, with the IRA targeting British loyalists; and the loyalist Ulster Volunteer Force, which demands revenge against Catholics they consider to be republican militants. Alistair Little, 16, is the leader of a UVF (Ulster Volunteer Force) cell eager to shed blood. He and his gang receive the go-ahead to kill a young Catholic, James Griffin. When the hit is carried out, 11-year-old Joe Griffin watches in horror as his brother dies. Thirty years later, Joe and Alistair must meet, in front of the cameras, facing a reconciliation. Alistair has served his sentence, and peace has been established in Northern Ireland, but Joe Griffin has other plans in mind.
