The king of Crete has two twin daughters, one good (Ariadne) and one bad (Phaedra). The second tries to kill the first but the crime is not completed thanks to the intervention of Theseus, prince of Athens. Becoming the owner of Crete and with the support of her lieutenant Sciron, Phaedra declares war on the Athenians and defeats them, forcing them to pay a tribute of 14 maidens to feed the minotaur, a monstrous being half man and half bull. These malevolent plans will be thwarted by Theseus, who will not only restore Ariadne to the throne of Crete but will also destroy the terrible Minotaur.
