THE WOMEN is a comedy of sentimental entanglements starring a group of upper-class New York women.
SYNOPSIS:
Mary Haines' (Meg Ryan) life is seemingly perfect: a beautiful house in Connecticut, a wonderful 12-year-old daughter, a successful husband on Wall Street, a job as a designer at her father's fashion company. But Mary not only pretends to have it all, she also does it all: whether it's fixing the garden; follow in her mother's footsteps as a member of a community of Central Park women; or personally attend to a charity dinner, despite being able to count on the help of his devoted housekeeper, Maggie, (Cloris Leachman) and nanny, Uta (Tilly Scott Pederson).
One of the things Mary can always count on is the company of her friends, like her best friend, the stylish Sylvie Fowler (Annette Bening), an impeccably chic and witty woman who enjoys being single in her new home. position as editor of the successful women's magazine CACHET. The group of friends is completed by Edie Cohen (Debra Messing), an eccentric mother, and writer Alex Fisher ( Jada Pinkett Smith), a glamorous lesbian who has the gift of always saying the last thing you want to hear.
Her whole world is shaken when she discovers that her husband is cheating on her with a spectacular saleswoman.
