Once upon a time... was one of the first animated feature films made in Spain. It was an adaptation of the Cinderella story under the initiative of Josep Baguñà, editor of satirical and children's magazines and pioneer of film animation. Jordi Tusell later joined, whose production company Estela Films brought this project to fruition under the artistic direction of Alexandre Cirici Pellicer, responsible for the richness of the pictorial and architectural backgrounds, and the technical direction of Josep Escobar, who would be one of the greats. cartoonists from Editorial Bruguera, responsible for such popular characters as Carpanta, Petra or Zipi and Zape.
Using 16 mm materials exclusively preserved in black and white, Filmoteca de Catalunya undertook a long restoration process that, with the decisive contribution of Luciano Berriatúa, returned to the film its original attributes of color and texture, also noticeable in this careful Blu-Ray edition.
A count and his daughter live in the beautiful castle of Aubanel. The young countess, because of her beauty and kindness, is loved by all her vassals but mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters.
