Tom of Finland tells the true and moving story of Finnish artist Touko Laaksonen
and his path to international success. In the movie, Touko returns after the War
continuing to his somber and self-righteous home of Finland, where homosexuality is illegal. Touko finds an escape route in art, starting to make drawings of muscular, free, uninhibited and proud gay men. Veli, his great love and life partner, encourages Touko to show people his work and his drawings end up taking him to Los Angeles, passing through Berlin first. The illustrations, signed with the name "Tom of Finland", become very popular and trigger a real revolution.
