January 1942. 400,000 Jews from all over Poland have been confined by the Nazis for more than a year in a narrow ghetto in the middle of the city. Outside the wall, life goes on. Inside, a group of actors performs a musical comedy every night at the Fémina theater. The spectators laugh and are moved by a love story that makes them forget for a moment their life in the ghetto.
