A dangerous mercenary (Paul Naschy) is hired in Japan to steal some jewels. After the bloodthirsty blow, he is badly injured. Later, already in Spain, he is welcomed for his recovery by a nice family in a house where nothing is what it seems...
Directed, scripted and starring Paul Naschy himself and filmed partly in Japan and Spain, it marks the beginning of the so-called “Japanese stage” in this curious mix of genres between action film, erotic thriller, some gore and, above all, terror unleashed in the last section of the film.
Don't miss the mythical scene of the herd's feast (with a stellar performance by Pepe Ruiz) that leaves, in comparison, a certain other scene with pigs from “Hannibal” (Ridley Scott, 2001) at the level of a Disney movie.
Extras: introduction to the film by Paul Naschy (1 min), introduction to the film by Sergio Molina, Víctor Matellano and David García Sariñena (9 min), interview with Pepe Ruiz (26 min), Japanese stage by Serendipia Naschy (10 min), trailer (3 min) and photo gallery (4 min).
Exclusive extras of the collector's edition: cover from the Fantaterror Collection, booklet by Carlos Benítez (Naschy Project), original story by Paul Naschy: “The Threshold” and limited and numbered edition certificate.
