Emperor Tiberius sends tribune Titus Valerius to Galilee to investigate the disappearance of a criminal's body shortly after his execution. Titus hopes to clarify the matter quickly and return to Rome immediately. However, things do not go as he planned. For his compatriots, Jesus, the executed one, is not considered a criminal but a liberator. Inc Claudia Procula, the wife of the prefect Pontius Pilate, seems fascinated by the figure of the executed man.
