Legend has it that a Spanish monk made the carving of the baby Jesus to protect a monastery near Seville against the Moors who occupied the Iberian Peninsula for many centuries. Unable to carve the face on the figure, the child Jesus appeared in front of the monk and helped him finish his work. The statue protected not only the monastery but the entire Peninsula that was later liberated from Muslim power. This documentary explains the exciting story of the baby Jesus of Prague. We will travel through places related to the famous statue, such as the city of Ávila, El Escorial and Prague, where it is currently exhibited. From the Spanish court the statue of the baby Jesus was moved to Prague, in the hands of the very devout María Manríquez de Lara, married to the Bohemian nobleman Vratislao de Pernštejn. His daughter, Polixena de Lobkowicz, presented the statuette to the community of Discalced Carmelite Fathers in Prague. The documentary is carried by a live baby Jesus who moves through the streets of Spain and Prague.
