The Shannon is the longest river in Ireland and Great Britain. Its 340km carve a path through the heart of the country, almost dividing the island in two. On its journey, the Shannon passes through a colorful range of rural landscapes, where in little-known backwaters, wild animals and plants still thrive like almost nowhere else in Ireland. The film follows the river from dawn to dusk during all four seasons, exploring the countless waterways, islands and lakes that make up the entire river system.
