This film, the first in a series, had been created by the War Department to give members of the Army objective information about the causes and events that led to our participation in the war and about the principles for which we fought. Chapter 2. The attack of the Nazis (1943). The scenes included in this film were obtained from reputable sources such as American newsreels, official United Nations tapes, and enemy films now in the possession of the War Department. Chapter 3. Divide and conquer (1943). This film is about the period during which the Nazi Blitzkrieg reached its climax and also during which Nazi betrayal reached its lowest point. On September 1, 1939, German troops, without warning, invaded Poland. The Nazis' attempt to enslave the world was underway. On September 3, Great Britain and France declared war on Germany. Chapter 4. The Battle of Britain (1943). The shadow of the victorious German troops spread across Western Europa . The self-proclaimed 'master race' was in its hour of glory.
