When a series of inexplicable events begins to worry the scientific community throughout the planet, Sigur Johanson, professor of marine biology, discovers in Norway an unknown glacial worm that threatens to destabilize continental slopes in the oceans and trigger tsunamis.
Meanwhile, in France, molecular biologist Cécile Roche faces a deadly pathogen that is contaminating the waters.
For his part, Leon Anawak, a young Canadian zoologist expert in cetaceans, tries to explain the unusual and dangerous behavior of some whales that have begun to brutally attack ships.
