A town lost in a desert area between Mongolia and China. The inhabitants have left little by little, tired of fighting against the advance of the desert. A few have stayed and plant tree seeds with the area's chief, Hungai, who ends up being left alone... until a Korean refugee appears, with her son Changho. They depend on each other to survive in such a hostile environment. Despite not speaking the same language, a deep relationship is born between the three. Filmed entirely in the steppes of Mongolia by a team of Korean and Mongolian actors and technicians in just 28 days, DESERT DREAMS tells of a man who cannot be uprooted and of two people, a woman and her son who represent total uprooting.
