When 16-year-old Finn is arrested while buying cocaine for his drug-addicted mother Liz, his plans to spend the summer with his father outside of New York fall apart. In an attempt to straighten out both her life and that of her son, Liz moves with him to the country house on a rural estate owned by her wealthy protector and lover, Mr. Osborne. Finn is immediately introduced to the tribe of wealthy country club members who live in his new home. It won't take him long to date Mr. Osborne's granddaughter, Maya, and to become great friends with Bryce, her brother. Finn quickly adapts to his new life of expensive clothes, cars, horses, sex and drugs. Liz begins attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and becoming a loving mother who strives to correct her mistakes and regain Finn's love and trust. Unfortunately, things begin to get out of control and the boy begins to see that the wealth and friendships acquired come at a price.
