Rolf, Prince Valiant's father's master-at-arms, arrives in Camelot with a letter from his father. The Prince refuses to accept her, hurt because his father did not approve of his departure to Camelot. In a dispute with the Black Knight, Rolf saves Prince Valiant, but is mortally wounded. Finally the prince decides to open the letter in which his father apologizes and gives him a magnificent sorrel tamed by himself. Rownce and Arn head towards Bridgesford sensing a terrible danger for Rowen's family. The Prince prefers not to accompany them but later changes his mind. However, upon his arrival he observes how two of Baron Duncan's men stop his companions. Together with Cedricc, Rowane's father, the Prince devises a plan to challenge the Baron to a duel. Cedric gives him a sword made of the same material as Excalibur: The Magic Sword.
