After spending 13 months in prison, Tonny (Mads Mikkelsen) is brought back to reality. He looks for his father, Smeden (Leif Silvestrer), a terrifying gangster from the underworld of Copenhagen, who runs a garage for stolen cars and then exports them. Having made sure he has things done properly, Smeden lets him work trying out as a car thief. Tonny is eager to prove to his father that he is capable of doing what he asks, the more he tries, the worse off he gets, until finally he finds himself immersed in a debt to his father that he is not able to pay him.
