At the end of the Tang dynasty, Li Ke-young, governor of the state of Sha To, and his thirteen sons set out to capture the imperial capital Changan from the rebels. During the campaign, clashes arise between the brothers, as Li Ke-yung does not trust the abilities of his son Li Tsun-hsin in favor of Li Tsun-hsiao. Once the Changan capital is occupied, Chu Wen, a supposedly loyal leader, organizes a banquet to eliminate Li Ke-yung. He saves his life, but becomes enraged when he realizes that it was Li Tsun-hsin who persuaded him to go to the banquet. Li tsun-hsin decides to kill his brother li tsun-hsiao, but is intercepted by his brothers and they face death.
