Este disco explora la rareza del repertorio clásico, el concierto para arpa. Las características musicales del arpa pueden proporcionar algo de un desafío para el compositor si está escribiendo un concierto para el instrumento, pero este disco cuenta con dos maravillosos ejemplos que muestran posibilidades casi infinitas. El francés François Adrien Boieldieu (1775-1834) probablemente era mejor conocido por sus 40 óperas, pero después de desarrollar una estrecha amistad con Sébastien Érard, el fabricante de pianos que estaba investigando e implementando mejoras al mecanismo del arpa, Boieldieu comenzó a escribir piezas para el arpa. La arpista alemana había sido una solista favorita de la Staatskapelle Dresden desde 1967 y disfrutó de giras por Europa, Estados Unidos y el Medio Oriente. La orquesta está dirigida por Siegfried Kurz.
