El compositor checo Jan Ladislaw Dussek (1760-1812) fue alumno de Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach y se convirtió en uno de los primeros virtuosos del piano, viajando y ofreciendo conciertos en muchos países europeos. Durante su estancia de 10 años en Londres, desarrolló con el fabricante Broadwood el primer piano de 6 pies, extendiendo sus posibilidades técnicas en gran medida. Las obras para piano de Dussek, arraigadas en el estilo Sturm und Drang de CPE Bach, miran hacia la era romántica, en su uso de affetti, contrastes y gestos dramáticos y una virtuosidad sin precedentes. Esta nueva grabación presenta las 3 sonatas para piano op. 35, dedicadas a Muzio Clementi, y ofrece ya una visión de la juventud de Beethoven (Patético!). Excelente interpretación tocada en un pianoforte por Naruhiko Kawaguchi, ganador del Concurso Internacional de Fortepiano de Roma.
