Las sonatas de flauta de pico barrocas en este CD llevan el título de Il Pastor Fido, una obra muy popular de Giovanni Guarini, que inspiró a muchos compositores con su atmósfera sensual, pastoral y romántica. Las sonatas fueron atribuidas a Antonio Vivaldi (debido al poder comercial de su fama) hasta que en 1990 se encontró prueba de que fueron escritas por el compositor francés Nicolas Chédeville, quien tomó material de Vivaldi y otros compositores, y lo desarrolló en el mismo estilo. Excelentes interpretaciones del Ensemble Pro Musica, jugadores de élite de la escena de la música antigua italiana: Stefano Bagliano (flauta de pico), Andrea Coen (clavecín y órgano).
