Ten Holt, Simeon : Incantatie IV [CD de audio] Jeroen Van Veen and Simeon Ten Holt

The Dutch composer Simeon Ten Holt is recognized throughout the world, especially for his work Canto Ostinato, one of the most representative of the minimalist style. This double CD presents Inc antatie IV, a work for three pianos composed of a set of fifteen elements, whose time, duration and color are left to the free choice of the performers, creating a kind of hybrid between composition and improvisation. According to pianist Jeroen van Veen, the performance of this work presents many analogies with “the observation of the sea, which always presents variations in its colors, luminosity and movement, without ever seeming exactly the same as itself.” This work is presented in the interpretation of Jeroen and Sandra van Veen and Tamara Rumiantsev, champions of Ten Holt's music, who have performed it in the most diverse settings, from train stations to shopping centers, as well as concert halls.
