The bitter Michael (Kenneth Nelson) receives in his Manhattan apartment the calm Donald (Frederick Combs), the crazy Emory (Cliff Gorman), the African-American Bernard (Reuben Greene), the sober Hank (Laurence Luckinbill) and his partner the promiscuous Larry (Keith Pentice) to celebrate the birthday of his decrepit friend Harold (Leonard Frey). They will be joined by Cowboy Tex (Robert La Tourneaux), hired by Emory to be one of Harold's gifts. But an unexpected presence will burst into the party when Michael receives a visit from an old fraternity buddy named Allan (Peter White), who seems to be suffering some kind of torment and also shows an ambiguous attitude towards the members of the party.
